Yes — completely real. Lab grown diamonds are not simulants (like cubic zirconia or moissanite). They are actual diamond crystals grown in a controlled environment using carbon — the same element as mined diamonds. Chemically, physically, and optically they are identical. Even expert gemologists cannot distinguish them without a spectrometer.

Two methods: HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) mimics the conditions deep underground, and CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) grows diamond layer by layer from a carbon-rich gas. Both produce gem-quality diamonds certified by IGI (International Gemological Institute).

Yes. All standard diamond testers work on thermal conductivity, which is identical in lab grown and mined diamonds. They test positive as real diamonds. Only specialised equipment that detects trace nitrogen patterns can differentiate them.

Significantly more so. Diamond mining requires moving tonnes of earth, uses vast amounts of water, and leaves large open pit scars. CVD lab growing uses electricity (ideally from renewable sources) and significantly less land and water. There are zero conflict or human rights concerns.

Supply chain. Mined diamonds go through mining companies → cutters → wholesalers → retailers — each adding margin. Lab grown diamonds bypass the mining chain entirely. The diamond itself takes 6–10 weeks to grow vs billions of years underground.
